What you get

Everything you need to publish an accessible video

One upload returns every file the WCAG 2.1 AA audio description and caption criteria call for.

Audio description

Spoken descriptions of on-screen text, charts, people and action, mixed into the natural pauses.

Extended description

Optional. For dense lectures, the video briefly pauses where there is no room to speak.

YouTube description track

A full-length alternate audio track for YouTube’s Descriptive audio and multi-audio players.

Captions

Captions for the original and the described version, in SRT and WebVTT.

Compliance note

A PDF mapping each file to WCAG criteria, with publishing steps for each platform.

The script

Objective, specific, and checked

Descriptions read out the names, numbers and on-screen text that the soundtrack never says. Each sentence is fact-checked by a second AI model against the exact frames it describes before it is voiced.

How it works

Upload. Wait a few minutes. Download.

  1. Upload your video

MP4, MOV or WebM, or a Google Drive or Dropbox link.

  2. AI reads the picture

Speech is transcribed word by word, pauses are found, and every scene is read for text, charts, people and action.

  3. Written, checked, voiced

Short descriptions are written for each pause, fact-checked against the frames, then read by a natural voice.

  4. Download

Files appear on the same page. Every file passes an automatic format check before delivery.

Timing

It never talks over the speaker

We map every spoken word to the millisecond. Descriptions go only into the gaps. Music and background sound dip while a description plays, then come back up.

Why Seen Aloud?

Fully automated

No queue for a human describer. Upload at midnight, publish at 12:05.

Fact-checked lines

A second AI model checks every sentence against the frames it describes and removes anything it cannot see.

Files that just work

Every file is checked against YouTube and Vimeo upload specs and the WebVTT and SRT formats before you get it.

Built for the rules

Covers WCAG 2.1 AA audio description and captions, the standard behind ADA Title II and the European Accessibility Act.

A fraction of the price

Every plan works out to under $0.75 per described minute, with extended description at no extra charge.

Why now

Audio description is now a requirement

ADA Title II

U.S. state and local governments, including public colleges, must meet WCAG 2.1 AA: by April 26, 2027 for entities serving 50,000 or more people, April 26, 2028 for smaller ones. Timeline

European Accessibility Act

Enforced since June 28, 2025 for many consumer-facing products and services sold in the EU, with EN 301 549, aligned with WCAG 2.1 AA, as the reference standard.

Your clients ask for it

Course publishers, training vendors and agencies that sell to public institutions are asked to prove their video is accessible before a contract is signed.

Questions

What is audio description?

Audio description is narration that tells blind and low-vision viewers what is happening on screen: on-screen text, charts, actions and scene changes that the soundtrack does not explain.

Does WCAG require audio description?

Yes. WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.2.5 (Level AA) requires audio description for prerecorded video with synchronized media. Level A (1.2.3) allows audio description or a full text alternative. Most laws that point to WCAG 2.1 AA, including the ADA Title II rule and the EN 301 549 standard used under the European Accessibility Act, therefore expect audio description.

What do I get back, and how?

Everything is delivered in your browser: download an audio-described MP4, a full-length audio description track, WebVTT and SRT files, the script and a compliance note, one by one or as a single ZIP. Direct publishing to YouTube and Vimeo is coming soon.

Standard or extended description?

By default, descriptions are timed to the natural pauses and play along with the video, without changing its length (standard description, WCAG 1.2.5, Level AA). For lectures where the speaker never stops, you can allow extended description: the video briefly pauses at the end of a sentence so a description can be spoken (WCAG 1.2.7, Level AAA).

Is AI description accurate enough?

The pipeline checks every description against the frames it describes, prioritizes on-screen text and numbers, and never guesses names it cannot read. AI can still misread a scene, so you also get the full script as an editable DOCX and a compliance note to keep on file. An in-browser script editor that rebuilds the audio after your changes is coming soon.

How long does it take?

Fully automated, around the clock. A 10-minute video is usually ready in about 15 minutes. You can watch the progress on the page and download as soon as it finishes.
